Requires 330 @ 110 cm of wool georgette in two colours pluss trimming in skirt colour. Close "dart" at shoulder of front (between the parallel lines). Cut away triangle for front insertion and cut around the large buttons. Close side and shoulder seams. Line button flaps, neatening neckline in the process. Set insertion under triangle (cut as negative of cutout) and hide seams under braid. The insertion must reach under the flaps which are fixed on it with hidden stitches. Buttons and buttonholes on flaps are blind. Neaten hem of jumper with bias strip and set braid onto it. Gather wrist end of sleeve and set between the two layers of cuff. Cuff should be made with a darker facing which shows as cuff doubles back along dash line. Set in sleeve so that sleeve and side seam meet. Join all skirt parts and pleat facing front, covering seams: In front part, 4.5 cm deep and 4 cm apart, stopping 1 cm from small tip. In side part, about 3.5 apart and 4 deep. In back part, about 3.5 apart and 4.5 deep, starting 18 cm from CB. Baste pleats down whole skirt length and firmly iron them after having made up hem. Set skirt under jumper along upper edge of braid. Line belt, sew onto CB and button onto front - see half-circle mark in 7 (overview only). ------ Made for Marianne as part of the Pattern Exchange ------ brought to you by La Couturière Parisienne (webmistress @marquise.de) http://www.marquise.de Copyright 1999, 2000 by A.
